Your Thoughts On the Beslan Tragedy

By Scott Ross

CBN.com In September, militants seized a Russian school and held hostages for three days. When it was over, more than 300 people were dead, many of whom were children. Scott Ross visited the scene of the massacre in his article "How Beslan Christians Cope with Tragedy." Here are your thoughts.

From R.W.: Scott, thanks for the great updates. For sure, we live in a world that seems bent on its own destruction. I still remember with great reverence your sermons on the great ‘rupture.’ Even before your take on the rapture, I pretty much was already on board. Escapism seem not part of Christ's plan.

From S.S.: My sister, who works for Global Outreach Missions, and her husband, who pastors a Russian Baptist Church, know the brother of the principal of the Beslan school. What a tragedy. And I am in water logged Florida. The end times are surely here.

From J.M.: The faith (Kingdom) grows more in times of tragedy, then in times of comfort. The history of the church has proven this. Satan’s greatest weapons are our silence and our complacency. Thanks for the encouragement and reminder of our course to travel.

From D.M.: The church we attend funds a missionary who helps run BEE (Bible Education through Extension) in Russia. He has relationships with the pastor and other families who lost children. The day after the killings the pastor was outside, surrounded by church and townspeople urging them to trust in God and not to take matters into their own hands and plan revenge killings.
